The Trust is committed to improving water quality in the area around Dulverton Weir and the River Barle/River Exe catchment as a whole. Project Partners Westcountry Rivers Trust have successfully operated a ‘Citizen Scientist’ programme for some years and DWLCT run a team under this scheme which is led by Ken Jarratt who can be contacted by those interested in joining in this valuable work. Whilst the Exe catchment and River Barle are not as polluted as other rivers in the region, it is vitally important for fish and all other users of the river that a ‘watching brief’ be kept on water quality.
